Friday, Sept. 23
- Breakfast 8-10am
- 10am Depart for Arraial D'Ajuda
- Across the Rio Buranhém lies the village of Arraial D’Ajuda, home of the beautiful sandstone cliffs of Pitinga.
- Fifteen years ago, before the arrival of electricity or the road from Porto Seguro, Arraial was a poor fishing village removed from the world.
Now Arraial is a charming and animated village, full of good restaurants and nighttime activities.
Saturday, Sept. 24
- Beach Day (Barra Mares)
- Nighttime trip to Ilha (http://www.ilhadosaquarios.com.br)
Sunday, Sept. 25
- Beach Day (Praia Barramares)
Optional Activities:
- 5 hour River Tour, Subido do Rio Buranhém, exploring the Manguezal, or swampland, with a river guide and lunch included.
- Heritage Site Tour- Porto Seguro is home to some of the first churches and settlements in Brazil. Visit various churches, museums
and historical sites.
Monday, Sept. 26
- Day trip to Trancoso, Praia do Espelho
- Dinner in Porto Seguro
Tuesday, Sept. 27
- Day trip to the Reserva da Jaqueira
- A visit to the nearby Indian Reservation Jaqueira of the Pataxó Indians, includes explanations about tribal traditions, showing medicinal
plants and trees, discussing the history and secrets of the rainforest and preservation.
- Following the tour, there will be a presentation of Indian dances and rituals followed by a tasting of typical Pataxó dishes
Wednesday, Sept. 28
Two options for day-trips:
- Whale-watching is a 5-hour excursion that includes a bilingual biologist guiding the tour, as well as fruit and refreshments on board.
- Snorkeling on a guided trip to Recife de Fora, with coral reefs and tide pools.
Thursday, Sept. 29
- Breakfast 7-8am, depart hotel 8:30am for airport
- Depart Porto Seguro
