Dear Friends -

Thank you for all the support you showed us and our artists at the grand opening of Boundless Motion, our Brazilian Arts Exhibit.  We had a great turn out!  The exhibit runs through the end of this month so please stop by if you haven't had a chance.
Our Houston Brazilian Festival is almost here.  Are you going to attend?  We have great performances lined up for your enjoyment.  Tickets go on sale this month.  We hope to see you and your friends there.

2011 Houston Brazilian Festival

The Houston Brazilian Festival is Houston's first and only festival dedicated to exploring the art, history, and culture of Brazil. Held in the first weekend in September, the Festival also celebrates Brazilian Independence from Portugal. Approximately 3,000 visitors come to the festival to enjoy dance, art, cuisine, and live performances from across the regions of Brazil. The festival was created and hosted by the Brazilian Arts Foundation to further its mission of promoting education, good health, and a vibrant culture.

If you are interested in volunteering, we still have spots available.

Viva Sapato!

A light-hearted and high-spirited story, full of spice, sensuality and romance, Viva Sapato tells the tale of Dolores, a beautiful Cuban dancer who decides to leave her failing marriage and open a restaurant by the beach with her aunt from Brazil. When her aunt sends her a pair of shoes instead of the money to start up the restaurant, she angrily sells the useless gift for spare change. Her dream fades away - until she discovers that the money was hidden in the heel. The zany search for the shoes begins, as she follows the footsteps through the lively streets of Havana, running into the quirky, colorful characters that bring Viva Sapato and Dolore's dream.
