Looking
for a way to get involved with the Brazilian Arts Foundation? Join
us for one of the following orientation and training sessions to learn
about who we are and what we do! Future events include monthly
Movie Nights, Samba Nights in the Heights events and the Houston
Brazilian Festival (September 4, 2011).
DATE: Thursday, March 31 7:30-9pm OR Saturday, April 2 3:30-5pm.

a non-profit we depend on volunteers to help extend the reach and

Samba Nights in the Heights, Carnaval!

Join
us in celebrating Carnaval, with our Samba Nights in the Heights event,
featuring live music by Brazilian Nuts, as well as food, dancing and a
Samba presentation. All are welcome!

When: Saturday, March 5, 2011, 7-10pm
Where: The Brazilian Arts Foundation (1133 E. 11th St.)
Cost: $8 Advance Purchase (online through March 1st), $10 at the door. *Kids 10 and under get in FREE!

2011 Brazil Trip
|  Are you ready to go to Brazil? September
21-29, 2011, the Brazilian Arts Foundation is organizing a trip to
Porto Seguro. Enjoy the sights, sounds, flavors and history of the
city that is called the "birthplace" of Brazil.
This is the perfect opportunity to explore Brazil for the first time, or to relax and enjoy a place you love. Activities
include a guided river boat tour, day trips to hidden beaches, whale
watching, scuba diving and a visit to the Pataxó Indian reservation. Cost and complete details here. |

for the next 8-week block of Portuguese classes, beginning March 7th,
8th and 12th. The schedule is as follows (*Note time changes from

6:30 to 7:45 pm Beginner IV (Spanish Speakers)

8:30-9:45 am Intermediate

| Movie Night | |
On the third Friday of every month, the Brazilian Arts Foundation offers a FREE Brazilian Movie Night to our community. This month we will be showing, "A Mulher Invisível"A
romantic comedy in which a 35-year old man is abandoned by his wife
and falls in love with his neighbor, a perfect, ideal woman. The only
problem: she doesn't exist! Friday, March 18th at 7:30pm
