BRAZILIAN ARTS FOUNDATION CLASS SCHEDULE

 

BAF CLASSES

A new block of Portuguese classes started on March 4, with a new Beginners I class added to our regular schedule:

 

 

 

 

Classes are taught by Teresa Leiserowitz author of Portuguese Dinâmico Século 21.  Leiserowitz graduated in Modern Language Portuguese at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – Brazil.

 Samba Classes every Saturday, 11-12 pm

 

Join us every Saturday from 11-12pm for Samba Workout. Learn how to dance different styles of samba, pagode and Afro-Brazilian dances while getting a great cardio workout!

$50 - Monthly **

$15 - Individual Classes

** 50% discount for students that are registered for Capoeira or Portuguese.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our very own Mestre Jelon Vieira’s international dance company, Dance Brazil, will be back to Houston on April 10, 2008 at the Jones Hall Theater with the newest production, RITMO.   The Brazilian Arts Foundation will conduct a Prelude Performance at 7 pm at the Jones Piano Level. BAF is proud to announce the Kids Capoeira Summer Camp 2008.

Your kid will learn: Basic Capoeira movements and strategy, Acrobatics, Music, Portuguese Language, and Traditions and Culture of Brazil and Capoeira.

Session 1, June 2-6, 8 am to noon: Ages 5 to 8

Session 2, June 9-13, 8 am to noon: Ages 9 to 14

The cost for each session is $150. Enroll before April 30th and receive a 10% discount.

Kids Capoeira Summer Camp 2008 

The Monday-Wednesday Kids Capoeira Class for ages 9-13 has changed to 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

Dance Brazil is back to Houston in April 

International Women’s Empowerment Week, Gainesville, Florida

The Brazilian Cultural Arts Exchange, Gainesville, Florida will be hosting the International Women’s Empowerment Week on March 17th - 24th.

We would like to thanks all those that attended our Samba Nights in the Heights. We hope everyone enjoyed the live sound of Brazilian drums, the samba dancing class and the Samba Show.
