WELCOME
The Brazilian Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing
cultural education and building community through the preservation and sharing of Brazilian culture. We provide
low-cost classes in Capoeira, samba, language, and music, as well as perform across the city, and host events
that promote education, good health, and vibrant culture.

JUNE 2008 HIGHLIGHTS
-The next block of Portuguese classes will start on June 24th for Beginners II and Intermediate and on June 26th for Beginners I.
-Samba Classes are now offered on Wednesdays 7-8pm and Saturdays 11-12 pm. Come check out a great way to work out at the beat of Brazilian drums
-The next SAMBA NIGHTS IN THE HEIGHTS will be on June 28th. Pre-sale tickets available at BAF for $10
-Mestre Jelow was one of the recipients of the "National Treasure" Award at the White House, the nation's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts given by National Endowment for the Arts.

CAPOEIRA LUANDA
Capoeira Luanda was born from the union of capoeiristas from different times and experiences, with the effective participation of all professors,
instructors and graduates of Mestre Jelon. Capoeira Luanda was founded on April 6th, 2007, after a long process of research and study under the
direction and guidance of Mestre Jelon.
